Cameroon teachers launch nationwide four-day “dead school” strike over grievances

Four-Day Work Stoppage to Affect All Regions

Teachers across Cameroon have declared a new nationwide strike set to begin on Tuesday, April 22, and continue through Friday, April 25. The industrial action, dubbed “Dead School,” will impact both public and private educational institutions throughout the country.

Unified Teacher Unions Lead Protest

The strike has been organized by the Collective of Teachers’ Organizations of Cameroon (Corec), a coalition comprising more than a dozen teachers’ unions. This marks another significant labor action by educators seeking to draw attention to their demands.

The “Dead School” protest is expected to bring educational activities to a standstill across all regions of Cameroon as teachers unite in their call for change.
