MSF Condemns Killing of Another Staff Member in Eastern DRC
“This Has to Stop!” – MSF Issues Urgent Warning
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has raised the alarm after one of its medical workers was fatally shot at his home in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo on April 18. The victim, a nurse at Masisi General Referral Hospital, marks the second MSF employee killed at the facility in under two months.
Escalating Violence Against Humanitarian Workers
Tragically, this incident represents the third MSF staff member killed in North Kivu province since January 2024. The repeated attacks on medical personnel have prompted the organization to demand immediate action to protect humanitarian workers in conflict zones.
The growing violence against aid workers in DRC’s unstable eastern regions threatens critical healthcare services for vulnerable populations. MSF continues to call for enhanced security measures and respect for humanitarian operations.
