Indianapolis, IN – The Indianapolis Zoo has announced Dr. Lily-Arison René de Roland, a leading biodiversity conservationist from Madagascar, as the 2025 Winner of the Indianapolis Prize, the world’s most prestigious award for animal conservation.

As National Director of The Peregrine Fund’s Madagascar Program since 2004, René de Roland has led teams that have:

  • Established four national protected areas covering 1,500 square miles
