CAS Commends Operatives’ Commitment to National Security
The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Bala-Abubakar, has commended the dedication of the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to enhancing national security. This commendation was made during the 2025 Sallah luncheon in Katsina, where he acknowledged the unwavering commitment of the personnel.
Represented by the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command, Usman Abdullahi, Bala-Abubakar praised the officers, airmen, and airwomen for their commitment to the mission and the nation’s security. He emphasized that their welfare remains a top priority and assured them of necessary equipment, training, and support to achieve greater excellence.
Operational Successes and Challenges
The Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA has been instrumental in the fight against bandits and terrorists in the North-West region. Since January 2025, joint operations have led to the successful elimination of numerous terrorists and bandits, including top commanders, significantly reducing their ability to carry out attacks.
Despite the operational challenges, the CAS encouraged the personnel to remain focused and determined. He reiterated the importance of restoring normalcy to the region and emphasized that every effort contributes to strengthening national security and stability.
Gratitude and Recognition
Air Marshal Bala-Abubakar also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his visionary leadership and support of the Armed Forces. He appreciated the cooperation from Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State, the Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA, the Nigerian Army, other security agencies, and local communities.
The event provided an opportunity to remember the fallen heroes, with a moment of silence to honor their sacrifice and pray for the repose of their souls.

The Nigerian Air Force remains committed to supporting its personnel’s welfare and operational effectiveness until ultimate victory is achieved. Bala-Abubakar assured the troops that their efforts would not go unrecognized and that they would continue to receive necessary support to excel.
