Bong County Supporters Urge President Boakai to Appoint Orando Zarwolo to Government Post

Longtime Unity Party Member Awaits Recognition

Gbarnga, Liberia — Supporters of Orando K. Zarwolo are intensifying calls for his appointment to a government position, appealing directly to President Joseph Boakai, Vice President Jeremiah Koung, and Bong County Senator Prince Moye.

Zarwolo, who ran in the 2023 legislative elections for Bong County District Three under the Unity Party banner, secured an impressive 8,254 votes, finishing second. Despite this strong electoral performance and his years of dedicated service to the party, the politician has yet to receive a government appointment.

Growing Discontent Among Supporters

At a recent gathering in Gbarnga, members of the Friends of Zarwolo movement voiced their frustration over what they see as a lack of recognition for Zarwolo’s contributions. Brooks Bonokollie, the group’s secretary general, emphasized Zarwolo’s unwavering support for the Unity Party since 2017 and his crucial role in advancing the party’s agenda during difficult periods.

“We are simply asking that the party recognizes Mr. Zarwolo’s efforts and appoints him to a position where he can continue serving the people,” Bonokollie stated.

Strong Qualifications for Public Service

Zarwolo, who transitioned from business to politics, holds a degree in Public Administration and Management from Cuttington University. His supporters argue that his academic credentials combined with his leadership experience make him exceptionally qualified for a government position.

The growing movement behind Zarwolo highlights increasing pressure on the Unity Party leadership to acknowledge and reward long-serving members who have demonstrated both electoral success and party loyalty.
