April Honors Educators with Sports, Ecology, and Financial Education Activities

Brava, Cape Verde – Vergílio Lopes Pires, the Education Delegate for Brava, has announced a series of events to celebrate April as the Month of the Cape Verdean Teacher, with special emphasis on April 23rd. In an interview with Inforpress, Pires highlighted the collaborative efforts of local educational institutions to honor educators.

Key Events for Teacher Appreciation

“The three educational structures—Delegation, Grouping 1, and Grouping 2—have organized multiple activities this month, including three major collective events,” Pires stated.

Last Wednesday, April 16th, a sports afternoon was held at the secondary school pavilion, fostering camaraderie among teachers. An upcoming ecological walk to the island’s highest point, organized in partnership with the Biflores Association, will further unite educators in appreciation of Brava’s natural beauty.

Additionally, an open conversation on financial education will feature an expert from Praia, offering valuable insights for educators and interested community members.

Community Engagement and Celebration

On Tuesday, April 22nd, a convivial dinner in Furna will provide an opportunity for teachers to socialize and celebrate their contributions. Pires encouraged widespread participation while reminding attendees to celebrate responsibly.

“We call on teachers to mark April 23rd with pomp and circumstance, but also with moderation and responsibility,” he emphasized.
