Bwala Advises Atiku: “It May Not Be God’s Will for You to Govern Nigeria”

Speaking on TVC’s Politics Hangout, Bwala highlighted Atiku’s six unsuccessful presidential bids—either in primaries or general elections—and advised him to explore other ways to contribute to the nation.

“Believe in Destiny,” Bwala Tells Atiku

“If I meet him face to face, I would say: ‘Your Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, you must believe in destiny. God gives power to whom He chooses, and it seems it may not be His will for you to govern Nigeria,’” Bwala stated.

He encouraged Atiku to collaborate with President Tinubu, describing them as longtime associates, to advance national development.

“There are many other ways to contribute. Since you and Tinubu have been friends for years, join forces to build the Nigeria you both envisioned. That way, your legacy will endure,” Bwala added.

Warning Against 2027 Ambitions

Bwala cautioned that another presidential run in 2027 could lead to political setbacks, noting that Atiku has already lost “60-70% of his political family.”

Atiku-Obi Alliance: A Risky Move?

On rumors of a potential alliance between Atiku and Peter Obi (Labour Party’s 2023 candidate), Bwala expressed skepticism, warning that Obi could lose his support base if he accepts a vice-presidential role.

“Peter Obi’s followers expect him to run for president. If he becomes a running mate, he risks losing them,” Bwala said, adding that Obi himself may not be comfortable in such an arrangement.

Coalition Efforts “Dead on Arrival”

Bwala dismissed ongoing attempts to form a political coalition ahead of 2027, citing Tinubu’s growing influence.

“Governors and senators are aligning with us. The so-called coalition lacks traction,” he asserted. “Tinubu may not be perfect, but no current politician matches his ability to rally support.”
