Gov. Yusuf Commends Tinubu’s Swift Action on Uromi Killings

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has praised President Bola Tinubu for his immediate response to the recent tragic killing of 16 hunters in Uromi, Edo State.

Condolence Visit and Commendations

Governor Yusuf expressed his appreciation during a meeting with Edo State Governor Monday Okpehbolo, who paid a condolence visit to Kano Government House on Monday.

“I was particularly impressed by President Tinubu’s proactive measures following the incident, including the prompt arrest of many suspected perpetrators,” Yusuf stated.

Recognition of Edo State’s Response

The Kano governor also commended his Edo counterpart for:

• Immediately visiting the crime scene
• Engaging with the Hausa community in Uromi
• Making the condolence visit to Kano

Yusuf urged Governor Okpehbolo to fulfill his promise of compensating the victims’ families, describing the incident as “unfortunate” and calling for national unity.

Call for National Unity

“Nigeria is a nation of diverse ethnic groups who should be able to tolerate one another,” Yusuf emphasized. “We should live peacefully and be our brothers’ keeper.”

The governor appealed for patience, assuring that both state and federal governments are working to ensure justice is served.

Edo Governor’s Response

Governor Okpehbolo detailed his administration’s actions, including:

• Arrest of 14 suspects
• Direct engagement with Uromi’s Hausa community
• Assurances that justice would prevail

The Edo delegation included leaders from the state’s Hausa and Arewa communities.
