Gov. Yusuf Commends Tinubu’s Swift Action on Uromi Killings

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has praised President Bola Tinubu for his immediate response to the tragic killing of 16 hunters in Uromi, Edo State, calling it a demonstration of strong leadership.

Condolence Visit and Commendations

The governor made these remarks while receiving Edo State Governor Monday Okpehbolo, who paid a condolence visit to Kano Government House following the violent incident.

“I’m particularly impressed by President Tinubu’s proactive measures, including the swift arrest of many suspected perpetrators,” Yusuf stated during the meeting.

Recognition for Edo State’s Response

Governor Yusuf also commended his Edo State counterpart for:

• Immediately visiting the crime scene
• Engaging with the Hausa community in Uromi
• Making the condolence visit to Kano

He urged Governor Okpehbolo to fulfill his promise of compensating victims’ families, describing the incident as “unfortunate” and calling for national unity.

Call for National Unity

“Nigeria is a nation of diverse ethnic groups who must learn to tolerate one another,” Yusuf emphasized. “We should be able to live peacefully and be our brothers’ keeper.”

The governor appealed for patience as Kano, Edo, and federal governments collaborate to ensure justice is served in the case.

Edo Governor’s Assurance

Governor Okpehbolo detailed his administration’s response measures:

• Arrest of 14 suspects connected to the killings
• Direct engagement with Uromi’s Hausa community
• Personal assurance that justice would prevail
