The highly anticipated Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL) clash between Gor Mahia and KCB was abruptly called off due to an unplayable pitch at Kenyatta Stadium.
The match officials made the decision after heavy rains rendered the playing surface unsuitable for competitive football. KCB FC confirmed the postponement through an official statement on their social media platforms.
“The match has been called off after the match officials deemed the playing surface unplayable following the heavy rains before kickoff,” read the KCB statement.
Shabana Secures Convincing 3-1 Victory Over Bandari
In other FKF PL action, Shabana FC dominated Bandari FC with a 3-1 win at Gusii Stadium. Austine Odongo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, marking his third goal in two consecutive matches.
The home side extended their lead through Mark Okolla’s header from a Brian Michira free kick early in the second half. Nehemiah Onchiri sealed the victory with Shabana’s third goal, while Bandari’s consolation came from Ali Juma Halafu.
