Bandits Abduct 67, Kill 5 in Katsina State Attacks
Violent Incidents Strike Multiple Villages
Armed bandits carried out two separate attacks in Katsina State, abducting a total of 67 people and killing five villagers between Sunday night and early Monday morning.
First Attack in Maikwama Village
According to reports from Ɗandume Local Government Area, 56 residents were kidnapped from Maikwama village during Sunday night’s assault. The attackers reportedly executed five villagers in what witnesses described as a particularly brutal manner.
Second Attack in Yanshantuna Village
In a subsequent attack on Monday morning, bandits struck Yanshantuna village in Dutsin-ma local government, abducting 11 people (nine women and two men). The assailants also left a pregnant woman injured during the violent raid.
Road Blockade Attempt
Intelligence sources revealed that another group of bandits attempted to block the Mararrabar Kankara-Katsina road between Burdugau and Yar Goje on Sunday night. While it remains unclear if they successfully abducted any travelers, reports confirm that occupants of one targeted vehicle managed to escape through gunfire to safety.
