U.S. Defense Giant Strengthens Ties with Moroccan Industry
Lockheed Martin, a leading U.S. defense technology company, has announced plans to expand its presence in Morocco following a strategic visit coordinated with the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE).
Boosting Morocco’s Defense Capabilities
The expansion initiative aims to enhance Morocco’s defense capabilities while fostering local industrial partnerships under the country’s defense and security equipment legislation.
Joseph Rank, Lockheed Martin’s CEO for Africa and Saudi Arabia, led the high-level delegation that focused on developing Morocco’s defense supply chain and manufacturing infrastructure. Key local partners in these discussions included major Moroccan defense contractors TDM Maroc and SABCA Maroc.
Longstanding Partnership Yields Results
During meetings with Moroccan government and military officials, the parties explored opportunities to strengthen workforce development and increase self-sufficiency in defense production.
This latest development builds on Lockheed Martin’s 50-year partnership with Morocco, which has included significant defense contributions such as the F-16 Fighting Falcon and C-130H aircraft programs.
