The June 5 Movement – Rally of Patriotic Forces (M5-RFP) has formally recognized Army General Assimi Goïta as the legitimate President of Mali, endorsing a renewable five-year presidential term. This landmark decision was announced on April 24, 2025, marking a significant moment in Mali’s political landscape.

In its official statement, the M5-RFP expressed full support for President Goïta’s leadership, describing him as the embodiment of Mali’s popular will and state sovereignty. The movement pledged to back stabilization efforts and national reconstruction under his administration.
