Algiers, April 17, 2025 – Hon. Shakeel Mohamed, Minister of Housing and Lands of Mauritius, met with Algerian Energy Minister Mohamed Arkab to discuss enhanced bilateral cooperation, particularly in renewable energy and trade.

The meeting, held in Algiers, saw Minister Arkab convey warm congratulations from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam on his recent electoral victory.
Both ministers explored opportunities for deeper collaboration, with Minister Arkab welcoming Mauritius’s proposal for a bilateral trade agreement. Hon. Mohamed highlighted Algeria’s leadership in:
- Electricity and LNG production
- Renewable (green) hydrogen development
- Clean (blue) hydrogen initiatives
