Nigeria’s Facility Management Sector Booms, Demands Skilled Workforce
Industry Grows at 15% Annually Amid Urbanization Push
Nigeria’s facility management sector is undergoing unprecedented growth, expanding at a remarkable 15% annual rate according to industry experts. This surge comes as rapid urbanization, increasing demand for energy-efficient solutions, and the formalization of building services across residential, commercial, and industrial spaces reshape Nigeria’s infrastructure landscape.
Critical Skills Gap Identified
Paul Erubami, CEO of Max-Migold and head of Faculty for the Facility Management Mastercraft Diploma, has sounded the alarm on a significant skills shortage. “Fewer than 35% of facility professionals in Nigeria have received structured training,” Erubami revealed, highlighting a critical gap in the booming sector.
Training Initiative Addresses Market Needs
In response to this challenge, Max-Migold Limited has launched its 25th batch of the Facility Management Mastercraft Programme (FMMC). This nationally recognized initiative aims to develop technically proficient, leadership-ready facility managers capable of handling Nigeria’s growing infrastructure demands.
“The Facility Management Mastercraft is more than just a training programme. It’s a transformative career pathway,” Erubami emphasized. “Our goal is to produce facility managers who are not only technically competent but also strategic leaders, ready to manage complex assets across Nigeria and Africa.”
