Government Pledges Support for Private Sector at Business Forum

Kampala, Uganda | April 8, 2025 – The Tanzanian government has reaffirmed its dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment and boosting private sector participation in regional trade platforms, including those hosted in neighboring Uganda.

Masunga Biteko, representing Tanzania’s Ambassador to Uganda, Major General Paul Simuli, made the announcement during the ongoing Tanzania-Uganda Business Forum in Kampala.

Infrastructure Investments Drive Trade Growth

Biteko highlighted Tanzania’s substantial investments in critical infrastructure projects, including ports, railways, and airports, designed to streamline trade between the two East African nations. These developments aim to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of goods and services transportation.

“This forum presents a vital platform for business leaders to network, collaborate, and explore new market opportunities,” Biteko stated, encouraging active participation from attendees.

Strengthening Regional Economic Partnerships

Emphasizing the deep economic ties between Tanzania and Uganda, Biteko noted that private sector engagement holds significant potential to unlock new business prospects, drive sustainable development, and solidify long-term bilateral relations.
