The Gambia Experience has forged a strategic partnership with Ascend Airways, significantly upgrading its winter 2025/26 flight program to The Gambia. This collaboration brings a 25% increase in seat capacity, new Saturday services, and greater flexibility for travelers.
Key Improvements to Gambia-Bound Flights
Starting 4 October 2025, direct flights from London Gatwick will utilize Ascend’s modern Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. This upgrade expands seating capacity to 189 seats per flight (up from 150), improving accessibility for UK travelers visiting The Gambia.
Tourism Sector Welcomes the Development
Adama Njie, Director of Tourism at the Gambia Tourism Board (GTB), praised the initiative: “This demonstrates strong commitment to Destination Gambia. The expanded service will boost UK market awareness and create tourism employment opportunities.”
