TIRSAM Launches Algeria’s First Homegrown Trucks, Priced from 1.85 Million DZD
In a landmark moment for Algeria’s industrial sector, the Batna-based group TIRSAM has officially rolled out the nation’s first domestically manufactured utility vehicles. The company not only delivered its inaugural batch of trucks but also unveiled their public sale prices, a move eagerly awaited by business owners and industry watchers alike.
A Ceremonial Handover and Price Reveal
The historic event unfolded at the Kechida Industrial Zone in Batna, where over 70 brand-new trucks were handed over to their first customers. This ceremony, attended by representatives from TIRSAM’s Chinese partner, banking officials, and local entrepreneurs, served as the culmination of a national ambition to see an “Algerian-made” utility vehicle on the road.
The atmosphere was electric as the company announced the pricing for its two new models:
– The “Single Cab” truck: 1,850,000 Algerian dinars.
– The “Double Cab” utility vehicle: 2,250,000 Algerian dinars.
The announcement sparked significant interest, particularly among young entrepreneurs seeking affordable and reliable transport solutions for their businesses.
Built for Algerian SMEs and Rugged Terrain
Addressing the gathering, TIRSAM’s CEO, Samir Maala, framed the launch as the fulfillment of a promise made to the nation’s highest offices. “This achievement honors a commitment made to the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister, who are closely monitoring this strategic file,” Maala stated.
But what exactly are businesses getting for their investment? The new Harbin-branded truck is engineered with a robust 1.5-liter engine, promising dependable performance and a superior load capacity. The company emphasizes that the vehicle is designed to tackle challenging conditions, from mountain passes to rough, unpaved roads, making it a versatile tool for Algeria’s diverse landscape.
A National Industrial Pillar Expands Its Reach
Founded in 2008, TIRSAM is no newcomer to heavy machinery. The company has solidified its reputation as a national leader in manufacturing tractors and agricultural equipment, boasting a 100% Algerian workforce and impressive rates of local parts integration. It also holds the exclusive representation for the global brand DEVELON in Algeria.
This new foray into utility vehicles represents a strategic expansion. With the slogan “Small truck… big possibilities,” TIRSAM is directly targeting the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector, offering a reliable and cost-effective alternative to the Chinese brands that currently dominate the market.
This launch is more than just a new product line; it’s a statement of intent. The rapid and ambitious progression of TIRSAM signals a new chapter for the national mechanical industry, one that looks to serve the domestic market while building a foundation for future export ambitions.
